About Chris Lewis

I have been taking photographs around my hometown of Telford (Shropshire), Lake District, and Wales, for the last 36 years. As you will see from images in my Portfolio, my preferred photographic subject is the landscape; in particular, the dramatic affect ever-changing weather conditions and seasons can have on our beautiful and diverse landscape. Occasionally, I apply creative techniques to images of the natural world around us.

As a member of Wrekin Arts Photographic Club in Telford, and the Federation Internationale De L'Art Photographique (FIAP), I enjoy entering national and international photographic salons, with many of the images shown in the Galleries exhibited in national and international salons of photography, throughout the UK, Europe, USA, South America, and Canada. In June 2014, I was awarded the distinction of EFIAP/Silver by FIAP, in recognition of work accepted in international salons of photography worldwide. Many images have been reproduced in books, magazines and calendars.

In 2010, image 'Power in the Mist' received the Environment Films 'Britain In Our Hands Award', and won a place in both the "Lansdcape Photographer of the Year 2010" awards book, and was displayed as a print at the National Theatre exhibition in London. http://http:/www.take-a-view.co.uk/2010-award-winners/

Some images in the galleries have been captured on 35mm transparency film (Velvia) and digitally scanned, or more recently on various Nikon DSLRs: D200/D700/D7000/D610/D750 and Fujifilm X-T2. The RAW data files have then been processed in Nikon Capture NX2 or Photoshop. Virtually all images have been taken using a tripod and remote release to ensure optimum quality of the final image.
